I am terrified.

Our human had too many of us, so they brought about a dozen of us here to the shelter.

We’ve been here for more than a month. They are taking good care of us, but I think something bad happens if you stay here too long, if nobody ever comes to get you.

Scared and trembling

On Sunday a human came and scared me lots more. She was staring and staring at me. A man who works here put a rope on me and made me go to another pen with grass in it, where the woman sat, while I tried to figure out what I was supposed to do.

I trembled all over. I peed and pooped. I stayed at the other end of the rope. I put my paw up to show that I wouldn’t hurt anybody, begging her and the man not to hurt me.

Then they put me back in the kennel and took my baby out. My little girl is only six months old, and even more scared than I am. I was really worried about what they might do to her, till they brought her back.

The woman said she’d come back to get us.  She promised. She said not to worry.  She said everything would be OK.

My baby girl is only six months old but even more terrified than I am.

I want to trust her. I really want to. But my trust has been broken. Broken so many times before.
