Surprise! We here at RescueDiva.com have been a bit busy, with our paws mixed up in yet another rescue mission.  This one, all accomplished via long-distance, finally comes to fruition today. Tee-hee!  Diva is downright giddy.

It’s almost 4:00 a.m. in California now, but all evening we have been doing jittery little dances and couldn’t go to bed till we’d gotten the word that rescued puppies Noah and Kyla are finally on their way. Soon their flight from the Greek island of Kefalonia will land in London, and their new lives will begin.

Then we had to stay up a few more minutes to crow to our readers.  There’s nothing in the world that gives Rescue Diva more joy than rescuing animals, and when it can be done as an amazing international team effort, as in this case, we love it even more.

Rescue Diva is proud to have helped coordinate these two sweeties’ rescue, and to have sponsored the costs of their several weeks’ stay at a pet hotel, their transport crates, as well as their flight to England. When you buy our stories, these are the types of happy endings you help create.

Tourists to the rescue!

Little Noah and Kyla’s new lives really began back in July, because that’s when vacationer Trevor Denton spotted the pups during his morning jog on the outskirts of the coastal village of Karavados. He couldn’t get them out of his mind—or out of his heart—and soon his wife Caroline and their two young sons joined him in plotting how to rescue the helpless babies. Only eight weeks old, abandoned, starving, and dehydrated, they barely clung to life.

But the kindness and determination of their saviors Trevor and Caroline soon turned all that around.

Like Christmas in September

We’re too groggy now to relay the whole sweet tale of just how the Dentons not only spearheaded this rescue, but also found a loving home for the two now-bouncy siblings with their friend Lee Overton and his family.  And we want to be able to wake up early tomorrow to hear the news of their arrival—it’s like Christmas in September!—so we’re off to bed anticipating a delightful morning.

For now, many thanks go to the Dentons, to Lee and his family, to Julia and Keith Preston for lovingly fostering the pups, and to Pat and Dave Dolman of Kefalonia Animal Trust (KATs) for performing the complicated paperwork and final vet visits with Dr. Amanda, then delivering them to the airport. Thanks also to Bryan Hollamby and Christina Portarinou for connecting the Dentons to Rescue Diva in the first place, and to Hubsy, a.k.a. The Saint, who stands behind Rescue Diva through all sorts of madcap rescue adventures, with much-tried patience and kind generosity.

To Noah and Kyla, sweet babies, Godspeed. Your new daddy Lee and your Uncle Trevor will await you at the airport.  Can’t ask for a better welcome than that.

We depend on sales of our romantic fiction to help create more real-life happy endings.

Please use a couple of bucks to enjoy a fun read, to spice up your life, and to replenish our rescue fund.

We also support great groups around the world, for example Kefalonia Animal Trust (KATs). They provide free spay/neuter for hundreds of animals per year–one of the best ways to prevent the abandonment and misery of puppies like Noah and Kyla.

Plus we do in-the-trenches rescues of angels like Robin, Chance, and Tiger, with help from San Diego Animal Support Foundation, and of Marisol and Lisa, with help from Last Chance at Life.
