Seven rescue groups to receive Spicy Stories donations

I love animal rescuers. Can there be any better breed of peeps?

They create hope where none existed. They run short on time and money but never on love. Though they can rarely keep their clothes or their rugs clean, their hearts are pure. They constantly cope with perturbing questions like, “Why do you bother with animals when there are so many starving children who desperately need help?” and “Well, what would you do for a hobby if people didn’t neglect/abandon/abuse animals for you to rescue?”

Especially, I love rescuers who have helped me rescue. So that’s why this month’s Spicy Stories donations, 50 percent of all profits, will go to animal rescue groups who kindly found wonderful adopters for dogs I saved off the streets, or assisted me in some other way.

A sixth group, Wild Horse Ranch Rescue, is included too, not only because of the fabulous work they do, but also because we realized we were going a little too doggy in the launch edition of Spicy Stories and had better feature an additional type of critter.

And this is a good time to announce that another group, Stichting Animal Association International (AAI) of Holland, will be included in the donations line-up because… drum roll… bless their generous hearts… they have kindly opened their arms to one of my two current fosters, Jorja.

Below you’ll find a list of these Sensational Seven. In the coming days we’ll be posting interviews with a spokesperson from each group, starting with Carol Kelly, president of Praying for Paws in McDonough, Georgia, an impassioned crusader for companion animal welfare.

We’ll also be posting info on the pooches whom these groups helped me re-home, while we were oh-so-callously rescuing animals instead of humans in the merry pursuance of our little “hobby.”  😉
